We are Global Anglicans who follow the "Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion" and the "Book of Common Prayer" which are shared by the global Anglican Church Communion.
Our Chancellor, the Rev. Roderick O. Ford, Esquire, is also the Chancellor of the Worldwide Anglican Church (WAC), as well as a distinguished member of the Florida Bar with over 25 years of service. The Methodist Law Centre is the official Law Firm for the Worldwide Anglican Church (WAC). And it is an affiliate member of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON).
We are both a traditional Law Office as well as an ecumenical church-based, legal assistance outreach mission—we are legally distinct and separate from any and all established church denominations. Our name “Methodist” was adopted in order to commemorate and honor the ministry and life's work of the Rev. John Wesley (1703 – 1791), an Anglican priest in the Church of England, and the founder of Methodism. On September 29, 2019, in a very special ecumenical ceremony at the Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tampa, Florida, the Methodist Law Centre was "consecrated" as a "social justice ministry" by the Rev. Gregory Gay. Thus, our Methodist roots run deep.
The Methodist Law Centre serves a variety of churches within various denominations: the Anglican, Episcopal, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Holiness, Apostolic, and non-denominational Church communities. Our legal assistance department accepts clients from every creed, race, color, or religion.
We are Chartered by the National Association of Christian Ministers (NACM).
